How is Smog produced?
Smog is produced through reactions involving VOC's and nitrogen oxides in sunlight that result in the production of ozone. Pollutants that form smog come from automobile exhausts, power plants, factories, paints, hair spray, charcoal starter fluid, solvents and plastic popcorn packaging.

Where is Smog most common?
Smog forms in any climate where industries or cities release large amounts of air pollution, such as smoke or gases. But, it is worse during warm, sunny weather when the upper air is warm enough to inhibit vertical circulation Especially found in areas with hills or mountains. Often stays for extended periods of time over densely populated cities or urban area, and can become dangerous.

Does the world view Smog as a major concern?
Smog is not considered a major concern, especially not in rural areas without industries. Only populated areas with many causes of air pollution really have to worry too much about smog and it is only considered major for those certain places. Some people aren't even educated to know what smog is nor have they ever seen it before in their life.

What has the world done (if anything) to counteract the affects of production of Smog?
The Clean Air Act of 1970 was passed by the governments as an act to control smog. The Environmental Protection Agency now measures levels of smog to ensure that levels of smog do not go too high.

What could possibly happen if Smog went untreated?
Property damage, major crop and forest problems, environmental harm, and major health problems will occur if smog goes untreated. The people that live in high industry cities will have the most trouble with breathing and fighting off colds. I do imagine that breathing through smoke for a living couldn't do much good.
